Jeff - try Embassy Suites on the 17th Street Causeway. They will pick you up at the airport and then there is a shuttle to the Pier, which I would suggest that you book as soon as you check in.

Being Canadians, nothing is cheap in FLL. I can't remember what we paid last Christmas. They have a free breakfast in the morning with made to order eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, etc. etc.

There is a little fish place right across the street on a side street, called Kelly's and the food was good. My daughter had Scrod and it was delicious. Of course, you being from from Vancouver, may not want fish. There's lots of restaurants nearby.

All rooms are Suites, so you have a living room, bedroom and there is a small fridge and a coffee maker in the room.

We have also stayed at Pier 66 which is lovely, but it's expensive and they have no shuttle and no free breakfast.

When we go this Christmas we are going to try the Marriott Spring Hill Suites, who also will pick you up at the airport and have a shuttle to the pier. Have no idea what it is like.

Don't forget the loonie's gone up by about 12 cents since last Christmas. That should help, unless the exchange rate roller coaster takes it down by then.

Jeff- Whenever we are cruising out of FFL or Miami I go a terrifice website at www.sidestep.com. It provides hotels, airlines, cruises, rental cars for booking in a very easy way. My best friend is a travel agent and she uses this site also. It provides her with info she doen't have in her system. You can book through their system or if you have an agent you love and trust you can provide them with info and let them book for you. Hope this helps. Have a great trip
