Has anyone had any experience with this excursion offered by RCI? It's a 6 hour tour sailing to St John and stopping for snorkeling and lunch. I don't really snorkel and the cost is about $80/pp so I wonder if it is worth the price or should we just go on our own to one of the beaches on St Thomas or St John? Any input would be appreciated.

We were on the Golden Eagle Desert Island Getaway which was a Champaign Catamaran ride to a iIsland for snorkling, swimming or whatever. I don't snorkel either, but the catamaran ride was worth the money. It is a beautiful ride especially with a sail. Be prepared to get splashed, which is half of the fun. I would definately recommend it. If you don't snorkel, there is always the beach, St John's, and the sun. Good Luck

Hi jls!
We did the Champagne Catamaran Sailaway with RCI exactly 2 years ago. It was the best excursion we ever did in 10 Caribbean cruises. The boat was immaculate and the crew very friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to have been a group of only eight
passengers. The Champagne flowed continually and a nice buffet lunch was served. We were under sail all the way to St. Johns and back and even trolled for deep-sea fish. Snorkeling was from the beach and if you didn't want to do that, you could wade ashore and swim or explore. Go and enjoy. It is well worth the expense.
Regards,
John
