We are taking the Costa Victoria in Nov '99 from Genoa to Ft. Lauderdale. Many of our ports include those you mentioned. Will post a short review upon our return in middle Ded.
However, complete information on those ports and any locale in the world is available on www.lonelyplanet.com ...Enjoy!

Jeff: We just returned from a cruise on Premier's Rembrandt which began in Barcelona. What a wonderful city and really walkable. We enjoyed strolling up La Ramba from the Christopher Colombus statue to Placa de Catalunya. Also the Gothic Quarter is great and the real treat of Barcelona is a visit to Gaudi's Sagrada Familia. We also cruised the Canary Islands last New Year's. Gran Canaria is wonderful....take a tour that gets you all over this small island. Tenerife deserves an all-day see everything tour from Mount Tiede to the moonscapes nearby to the ocean and the man-made beaches designed by Cesar Enrique so his wonderful Canaries would not be ruined. Any islands in the Caribbean pale in comparison. And if you get a chance get to Mallorca....WONDERFUL!

We were in Tangier and Casablanca in June on Renaissance Cruises. In Tangier, we hired a private guide with taxi at $50 for a half-day and loved it. We drove around the hills of Tangier and got a broad tour, then left the taxi and the guide took us through the markets on foot -- what a terrific experience! The guides were waiting to be hired right at the foot of the gangway and they are all licensed -- sure beat being herded on the bus tour! I can't say much about Casablanca as we were there on a holy holiday and the town was pretty much shut down. But the mosque is not to be missed -- it's immense and has a wonderful setting right on the Atlantic. The artistry is amazing.
