We are taking our two teens on their first cruise in March, 2001 on Majesty of the Seas. We have cruised twice before and want this one to be fun for the kids. They would like to swim with dolphins; not just pet them but get in the water with them. Does anyone know of something like this accessible from Nassau?

There is a Swim With the Dolphins excursion at Blue Lagoon in Nassau. HAL has it listed in their brochure, so Majesty of the Seas will probably have it also. Should be fun.
Enjoy!.

This tour is very popular and kind of spendy, but well worth the money! My wife andf I swam with the dolphins and have not had such an experience before or since and we were 44 yrs old. Something for the boys to look foward to is you not only swim and touch them they will push them across the area You will probally have to book this tour off of the ship as space and time is limited.
Let us know what they think Kevin

My daughter did this at Blue Lagoon. She said it was a once in a life time thing and if you ever have the chance, do it. There were two types of encounters. She did the higher priced one which was more interactive At first she was a little frightened because of the size of the dolphin but relaxed and all was well. At one point they had her float on her back and the dolphine push her clear across the lagoon they were in.
Don't miss it.

We just did that 2 weeks ago. We were aboard the Disney Wonder and it was all sold out. However you may do as I did and make reservations in advance. The website http://www.dolphinswims.com has a lot of info. Even though it says you must pay in advance, this is not true, they will take a credit card when you arrive. I sent email requesting reservations, telling what cruise/day I would arrive in Nassau. They faxed me back a comfirmation within a few days. You will have to take a cab (about $4 per person) from the ship to their check in window at the pier on Paradise Island. Prepare to spend money. They do take videos (48$) and picutres that you may purchase. Take one of those underwater cameras, the Dolphins splash you on porpoise!
