Has anyone stayed at the Wyndham in Old San Juan? Any beaches near the pier in San Juan?

I am staying there the night before the Christmas cruise on the Veendam and as far as I remember there are no beaches nearby. You would have to take a cab. You are right down at the waterfront across the street from the docks. Lots of shopping nearby, but no beaches.
What ship are you going on.

Stayed at Wyndham last Nov. Very nice hotel. Clean, efficient, and walking distance to all Old San Juan sites. Our room faced the port and we could see the cruise ships from our window. There isn't a beach there. You can take a cab to either Condado or Isle Verde. We had planned on doing that, but, our flight was delayed. There are nice places to eat (restaurant next door, on the corner, very nice)and you can try your luck at their casino. If you want to do something special at night, take a cab to El San Juan Resort in Isle Verde. They have a beautiful casino, lobby area and on the roof there's a mexican restaurant that makes great guacamole and margaritas. There's also a dance club that you can visit without paying since they are under the same managment as Wyndham. Have a great trip.

I,m going on the Fascination. So far I,ve heard all good reports about the Wyndham. I heard there is a TONY ROMA,S in San Juan. Does anyone know where it is? They have the best ribs!

It's in the Condado Plaza Hotel on Ashford Avenue.
