We have booked on the Sunbird on 25th March for this cruise and we are really looking forward to it. We were on the Sunbird in September for a Med cruise and thought everything about it was just great.
However, we were dissapionted with a couple of the optional trips we took, and so when we go to the Carribean we don't want to come a cropper in the same way. Obviously we want to spend time on the beaches, but any tips for or against any others?

HI Lorraine,

A few suggestions re your cruise on Sunbird 25Mar02.

Antigua - Visit Nelsons Dockyards and Shirley Heights. Nice historic tour and 2 very different sides of Antigua.

St. Maarten - This island is not as nice as it really should be but you have to get past that a bit. It's been hit by almost every hurricane that has passed this area in the last 6 or so years and the governments of France and The Netherland Antillies haven't done much to restore the island. The french side, St. Martin has some nice European shopping while the Dutch side (where the ship ports) is known for it's duty free shopping. Biggest tourist attraction is Orient Beach, mainly as it is topless on one side and totally nude on the other.

St. Kitts. - Nice historic tours which include a Batik making factory (see how batik is done and buy some items), and 2 other historical sights on the tour.

Aruba - it's a flat Island. Totally different from the others you will visit. You may want to take an island tour but not much to see (the Natural Bridge is about the best thing on the tour). The beaches are nice mainly south and west of the seaport.

Barbados - if you are in Barbados for any length of time, I highly recommend an island tour. Lots of things to do and see and it will give you an over all view of our island.

Have a great cruise
