Thanks for the comic relief. Some of the horror stories I've heard since telling people I've booked a cruise!!! Saying I'll be seasick for days on end (I manage to fly OK from Boston to parts of Europe). Saying the service is awful, when you can get any at all. Saying at every turn the cruise lines try to get you to spend more money. Saying the ship I'm on (NCL Majesty) is outdated, unclean, etc. Makes it sound like I'd be better off staying home and having a root canal!
It was nice to read your posting and smile.

This is unlikely, especially in the summer of tropical waters. Anyway, all modern ships have stabilizers. Majesty is NOT a rowing boat, she's 40,876 tons, which is certainly not a tiny cruise ship.

Saying the service is awful, when you can get any at all.

She gets a reasonable score for 'service' in the Berlitz guide.

Saying at every turn the cruise lines try to get you to spend more money.

Well there can be a little truth in this, but
if you say 'no thanks', they do go away!

Saying the ship I'm on (NCL Majesty) is outdated, unclean, etc.

"A smart, stylish, contemporary cruise ship" :Berlitz

In Spring 1999 she underwent a $53.3 million refurbishment. I've not cruised on her, but in my opinion she is a nice size - not too big!

Makes it sound like I'd be better off staying home and having a root canal!

O.K you go to the Dentist, I'll take your cruise!

Donnaw, do check out our 'Readers Reviews', see memu left. Majesty is featured.

hi
2 things..a comment and a question. First..Majesty is a small ship and it does vibrate in slow speed..BUT I have to say...it was our first cruise about 4 years ago and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I always get car sick... I started on Bonamine before we boarded our plane and stayed on it the whole trip and I was fine. Everything was top notch on the ship and the food was wonderful.
now the question. we are now planning another cruise. We think we want to visit the Bahamas and OR the west indies. We want a trip where we are busy every day on an island and not spend a whole day or 2 at sea.
I found a carribean cruise (7-days) on the carnival "holiday". It visits a different island every day. The problem is..i have not even heard of a couple of the islands and am afraid we'll have nothing to do. Most likely we will not do water sports.(because of my fear of sharks) the itinerary is: Departs from San Juan, Puerto Rico with stops in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Road Town, Tortola, B.W.I.; Roseau, Dominica; Fort-De-France, Martinique; Bridgetown, Barbados; Basseterre, St. Kitts; San Juan, Puerto Rico.
we'd have to fly to san Juan to board this cruise. any opinions on this itinerary?
Has anyone had experience with this ship?
Also.. I heard that the higher up your room is... the more waving and swaying you will feel. Is that true? we ae thinking of a room with a balcony but on this ship, the only ones are on practically the top floor.
would love your input...feel free to write me privately or post here. Thanks so much.

Sorry Ugogirl: The Holiday no longer makes that itinery and I don't think Carnival has replaced that ship with another for that itinery.

I don't know of another cruises that offer no sea days. Alot of 7 day cruises will include one sea day.
