I'm from the Pacific Northwest, weather similar to Ireland, and I agree the Caribbean is the only place to go during our "liquid sun" days. As far as ships go, We just returned in December from the Grandeur of the Seas, while the ship is beautiful the service, food and activity was on par with Carnival. So if your a "Party O'Girl" I'd go with the new Carnival ship.
