We will be on the Splendor JAN.8,2005
Not our first cruise but our friends 1st. Needless to say we would like to give them the best answers to their questions. Since this is our 1st cruise on this ship here goes. Is there a hair dryer in both bathrooms or one for the suite? Do they have Karaoke? Do they have any card tournaments? Since we made the reservations for the 4 of us can we get different billing for our charges aboard ship or do we have to allow all 4 to charge on the same card? Anyone out there who has been on this ship lately please advise us as to the pros and cons. Thank you in advance. I know this is where to get the best advice as you were the ones who helped us on our previous vacations and we got GREAT ADVICE.

Splendour of the Seas, although no longer a new state-of-the-art ship, is very nice. I do not know all the answers to your questions, but:

I believe that you can have multiple onboard accounts if each person registers their credit card at check-in.

I would imagine there would be several hairdryers, but I cannot be sure?

I'm not sure about Karaoke and cards, but RCI offer a pretty full program of entertainment and activities.

If you want achange from the main dining room, the food in the Windjammer Cafe of an evening, (an alternative to the main dining room) was very good.

I regard RCI as very good value for money. They offer a good 3/4 star product, aimed at families and the younger crowd, but don't expect 5 stars treatment - you don't pay for it either! I don't think you or your freinds will be dissapointed.

I cruised on this ship a few years ago in the Med. Since I don't know where you are cruising to, I will describe our cruise. It is a nice ship, a bit dated-but very well maintained. The two-deck main dining room is impressive with it's huge walls of glass that overlook the boat deck and the sea. There is no wrap around promenade deck, but the upper sun decks are nice for sunning and walking. The painted steel-decked boat deck is more utilitarian than attractive, but it is spotless. If you are on the 7-day Med. trip, this cruise goes by very quickly because there is literally a port every day-and you can feel rushed at times. At Naples while the ship was still tied up at the dock, dinner was being served just as we were returning from our day excursion in Pompeii. The last day is a full sea day, so you can really enjoy the ship's facilities on that day. The dining staff was great as were the cruise director and his cruise staff. You can set up as many accounts as you like with different credit cards. This was handled dockside at Barcelona. We had a Verandah cabin which is rare on this ship as most are regular outside and inside rooms with some suites on the upper decks. The cabins were all similar in size and comfortable. The passenger load was approx. 50% UK, 20% U.S. and the other 30% Spanish, Northern European among other groups. We met some fantastic people from many different countries and that made the cruise very memorable.

Sorry, there is a wrap around Promenade deck, I don't remember it being teak though. It had a greenish/blue painted decking to it.

Scratch the intinerary info, the ship info is the same. P.S. I believe the hairdryers are next to the vanity mirror at your dressing table.
