Desirod, I just got tired of seeing gay and lesbian cruises every time I scrolled to this topic recently. I have only opened this to make a change.

Do you have any other topics or unusual interests that we could all join in?

Has anyone here plugged into the SIMS Online? I play the SIMS on my computer (not online version yet) Wouldn't it be cool if the creators of the SIMS would create a "SIMS Take a CRUISE"? This new version would allow you to build your own cruise ship...design your own lounges and dinning facilities etc. Then watch your SIMS enjoy their cruise on the ship that YOU designed!!!!

I have been playing the SIMS for a while now and I wish that they could make a program that enabled them to take a cruise. I recently purchased the SIMS Vacation add-on. The choice of vacations do not include a cruise!

Maybe some company other than the creators of SIMS could come up with something too. It could just be altered to something like...... go on the internet and you could choose to take cruises and if you get enought money set up a cruise line and people on the net could merge with you or buy out your company and vice versa.

SIMS Vacation add on looks interesting but I'm gonna go for the Simms with pets...that sounds more intersting. Hot Date was a lot of fun. But yes it would be fun to see a SIMS Cruise option.

Keitaro, your idea sounds complicated. Do you pay Sims?

I have SIM City and have really enjoyed creating my own cities. I have often thought the same thing, why not a cruise ship? I guess they feel not enough people would be interested. I would be the first to buy that program if it ever came out.

Here's an interesting idea.... it would be interesting to have a special deli section of a buffet where passengers can have a sandwich made with exotic deli meats and cheeses???

Let me clarify what I wrote above....onboard many cruise ships there is a buffet....I think it would be nice to have a "Deli Section" where passengers can choose from exotic deli meats and cheeses and other delicate deli products. It wouldn't be that difficult to put in a decent Deli...they don't take up that much room. The benefit would be a GREAT place to get your favorite deli meats and cheeses like back home. If you don't have a decent deli in your area then it would be a huge treat.

Most ships already provide quite a range of various cold meats and cheeses in their buffet lines, along with various types of bread. NCL do have a Sandwich Station sometimes at lunch where they build a sandwich in the bread you want with whatever meats/cheeses you point out and salad etc. Not quite the wide selection you'd get in a Deli, but would that really be worthwhile for any line to hold all that stock?
All the dips homous, taramasalata etc I've seen appear from time to time as well.
Pam..but I suspect your [US?] idea of a 'Deli' is aomewhat different to mine

I think many of the Deli's in the US are different than abroad.

I know that many cruiseships offer various meats and cheeses...but a deli-like area would be unique.

I don't know about all the HAL ships, but the Volendam and Rotterdam have a special Deli Bar - you can get all kinds of deli sandwiches and there is always a Special for the Day - sometimes even a grilled sandwich. They were quite good.

Barryboat if you're talking Corned Beef, Pastrami and Montreal Smoked on various Rye breads, Pumpernickle etc. (all hot) with garlic dills and hot mustard on the side - I'm with you!

I've always thought that it would be interesting to sleep on a waterbed on a cruise ship...any thoughts?

Everytime I see one of these I have an overwhelming urge to 'pop' it. Let me know when you try one out and I'll be along with a penknife

Pam,

That could cause some serious problems with flooding!

Don't you think that would be kindof cool though to be on a ship at sea and sleeping on a water bed? It might completely reduce the movement of the ship while sleeping? (Maybe)

I have never slept on one, only laid on one in a shop.I have no idea what would happen.
I like feeling a ship's motion, but perhaps it could have the opposite effect and increase the movement? Look what happens to the water in the pools. Now that would be fun!! Try sleeping on a lilo in the pool

Pam,

I've only slept on a waterbed a couple of times, but I just think it would be an interesting sensation.

And yes cut those toe nails

You would think so, but actually it may act as a Gyro to counter-balance the person in the bed with the movement of the ship.

I too like the movement of the ship it's soothing while trying to sleep, almost like being lulled to sleep, but I still think it would be a unique sensation.

So I wonder if it would advantageous to put one of those gyros on a modern cruise ship?

Remember years ago on a liner a huge gyro was installed, but the project was shut down because it worked too good. The ship just pounded straight through the waves which was hard on the ship.
